As part of the “EASI ZERo” project, innovative building materials for the building envelope are being developed and validated, enabling efficient building renovation with low CO₂ emissions.

EASI ZERo develops and validates an easy-to-install global building envelope system for efficient energy renovation with an energy balance and CO₂ emissions close to zero. The materials are based on biologically produced and recycled materials to minimize the carbon footprint. The material sources are wood, used wood parts, grown mycelium, or recycled construction waste. EASI ZERo thus responds to the urgent need to reduce the environmental impact of European buildings by efficiently increasing their thermal performance while minimizing their carbon footprint.
